Is diversity a trend? <\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

Diversity is all the rage on fashion\u2019s catwalks, but will it transcend trends?<\/em><\/span><\/h2>\n

Diversity means different things to different people. But that hasn\u2019t stopped it becoming fashion\u2019s newest buzzword. Race, age, size and representation on catwalks are key to boosting brand sales. But is it authentic? And will it last?<\/span><\/p>\n

Thanks to the power of social media, the fashion industry has a direct line to its customers (just as we offer you a hotline to designers on the Fashtory<\/u>app!). People want to see themselves in fashion; real clothes for real people.<\/span><\/p>\n

Fashion has a way to go before it solves its inclusivity problem, but we should celebrate the role models paving the way for change. In 2014 Denise Bidot became the first curve model to walk at New York fashion week. At Fashtory<\/u>we\u2019re big fans of the beautiful Halima Aden \u2013 in 2017 she stole the show as the first to wear a hijab to walk the catwalk, shifting the spotlight onto modest fashion<\/u>.<\/span><\/p>\n
