Shape up for Winter

Oversized and slouchy, fashion is sizing us up with voluminous cuts and outsize silhouettes.

Voluminous cut and flared coats, blanket capes and slouched boots – no matter the season fashion loves to play with shape.

Softer silhouettes have come and gone since ’50s cocoon coats defined elegance more than half a century ago. Now, as sportswear influences transform tailoring, cuts are getting more comfortable. Be it slouchy knits, minimalist mannish tailoring, or a gigantic proportioned tulle skirt, there’s many ways to dress the female form. The lesson? If in doubt take everything a size up for effortless elegance.

While oversized shapes flatter most figures, be careful of proportions; if in doubt, add a heel. Be sure to balance voluminous cuts with streamlined shapes elsewhere. Want to reshape your wardrobe? Head to Fashtory and start with Moga’s oversized fit, textured fabric coat or try Sabina’s luxe tailoring.
