All Street Style signs point to a retro revival
Style influencers were out in force for the new fashion season, offering up styling tips. Last season’s statement sleeves are still here, but the emphasis has shifted to the shoulder. It couldn’t be that the 80s are back?
Yes indeed, designer logos are cool again, strong suiting is best worn with big gold earrings and boiler suits are big news. The trick? Wear only one ’80s throwback piece at a time.
If the retro vibe isn’t your thing it’s bad news, as it was all over the Autumn/Winter 18 catwalks too. Marc Jacobs did it best, with glamourous oversized silhouettes and sweeping capes in jewel tones of ruby, jade and fuchsia.
But the question remains – will you embrace the ‘80s, or is it best left in the past?
